Behind the Sass: The Story of Bite Me Now's Most Popular Designs
It's 2025, and the world is finally starting to embrace the bold, unapologetic spirit of the LGBTQIA+ community. Leading the charge is Bite Me Now, an Australian-based brand that's transforming the way we think about queer fashion.
From the moment you step into their online store, you're hit with a wave of sass, colour, and pure, unadulterated self-expression. Forget about blending in - Bite Me Now is all about making a statement, whether it's with a t-shirt that proudly declares "Femme As Fuck" or a hoodie that screams "Transcend'.
But behind these bold designs lies a story of resilience, creativity, and a whole lot of laughter. As the founder, Pookie, puts it, "We're not just selling clothes - we're selling an attitude, a way of life. And it all started with a middle finger and a whole lot of glitter."
The Birth of Bite Me Now
It was 2023, and Pookie was fed up. Fed up with the lack of representation in the fashion industry, fed up with the constant pressure to conform, and fed up with the never-ending stream of microaggressions and casual homophobia that had become a part of their daily life.
"I was working a corporate job, and every day, I'd come home and just feel so drained," Pookie recalls. "I'd look in my closet and see the same boring, uninspired outfits, and I'd think, 'There has to be more to life than this.'"
So, Pookie did what any self-respecting queer person would do - they grabbed a sharpie, a t-shirt, and started designing. The first design was a simple, yet powerful statement: "Bite Me." It was a middle finger to the world, a declaration of "I don't care what you think, I'm going to be myself, and you can deal with it."
The response was immediate and overwhelming. Friends and family members started asking for their own "Bite Me" shirts, and before long, Pookie was getting messages from strangers all over the world, asking where they could get their hands on one.
"That's when I knew I was onto something," Pookie says. "I realised that there was this huge, untapped market of people who were just craving something different, something that spoke to them on a deeper level."
Embracing the Sass
With the success of the "Bite Me" shirt, Pookie knew they had to keep the momentum going. They started brainstorming new designs, each one more bold and unapologetic than the last.
"I wanted to create designs that were just as much a middle finger to the status quo as they were a celebration of our community," Pookie explains. "I wanted people to put on a Bite Me Now shirt and feel empowered, like they could take on the world."
And that's exactly what they did. From the "Femme As Fuck" tee to the 'Transcend' hoodie, Bite Me Now's designs quickly became a hit, not just with the LGBTQIA+ community, but with anyone who was tired of playing by the rules.
"We're not just selling clothes, we're selling a lifestyle, with attitude" Pookie says. "We're saying, 'Fuck the haters, be yourself, and do it with style.'"
The Power of Visibility
But Bite Me Now isn't just about making a fashion statement - it's about creating a sense of community and visibility for the LGBTQIA+ community.
"When I was growing up, I never saw myself represented in the media or in the fashion industry," Pookie says. "It was always this idea of what a 'normal' person was supposed to look like, and I just didn't fit that mould."
That's why Bite Me Now is so important. By creating bold, unapologetic designs that celebrate the diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community, the brand is helping to shatter those outdated stereotypes and create a space where everyone can feel seen and heard.
"We're creating a message," Pookie says. "We're saying, 'You are valid, you are beautiful, and you deserve to be celebrated.'"
The Future of Bite Me Now
As Bite Me Now continues to grow and evolve, Pookie is excited to see what the future holds.
"We're just getting started," they say. "We've got so many more designs in the works, and we're constantly looking for new ways to push the boundaries and challenge the status quo."
But beyond the fashion, Pookie is most excited about the community that Bite Me Now is building.
"At the end of the day, this isn't just about clothes - it's about creating a space where people can come together, celebrate their identity, and feel empowered to be their authentic selves," Pookie says. "That's what Bite Me Now is all about, and that's what's going to keep us going for years to come."
So, whether you're rocking a "Femme As Fuck" tee or a "100% Gay (OK, maybe 180%)" hoodie, know that you're part of something bigger. You're part of a movement that's changing the way the world sees the LGBTQIA+ community, one bold, unapologetic design at a time.
